On Campus Housing registration has now closed.

Many other options are available, including the Springdale hotels listed on the Hotel Options tab, which have group rates for Stoa attendees. There are also many other hotels in the Springdale area that still have rooms available.

Additionally, hotel rooms in Siloam Springs may open up as people who are able to stay on-campus release hotel rooms they reserved while waiting to see if a JBU room would come their way. It may be worthwhile to contact places that were fully occupied to see if they now have rooms available.

Check the Hotel Options page for additional information on hotels.

Just imagine!

  • Rolling out of bed just a little bit later because you can walk to morning announcements!
  • Optional meal plans including a full buffet breakfast to start each day - no meager continental fare here!
  • A five minute round trip jog to your room midday if you forgot your Apologetics box... or spilled lunch on your tie... or need to switch jackets to match your Duo partner!
  • A recreation center to energize you diehards with a workout, and to refresh those who find the time to squeeze in a swim!

Staying on campus at JBU has all this - and more - in store for you

at rates that should bring a smile to anyone’s wallet!

Too good to be true? Well, not if you are willing and able to accept the limitations of what we can’t offer, along with all those things we can. Much as we want to, we just aren’t able to sing, “Have it your way…” so if you want to enjoy all the great benefits that on-campus housing for NITOC 2013 affords, you’ll need to read all the fine print on this site and make sure you’re okay with “having it this way.” We are not equipped to accommodate special requests or changes to reservations like hotels are, and we have contractual obligations to JBU that further limit what we can allow. So this will not be the right option for everyone. Either it will meet your needs or it won"t. (But we hope it will!)

The safety and well-being of our members are the two top priorities for campus housing. To best achieve them, we are requiring every reservation to be made by an adult who agrees to act as the “responsible party” for their reservation in the manner outlined on this website. If this requirement is not suitable for you, then we ask you to look elsewhere to find lodging arrangements that better fit your needs (i.e., hotels listed on the NITOC 2013 website, or any of the other numerous establishments in the surrounding area).

NITOC is first and foremost a national speech and debate championship, and minimizing the potential for complications with housing means Stoa can focus more resources and energy into the tournament itself, which is vital and good for everyone.

Important Information to Know:

• Questions about on-campus housing registration should be emailed to:
Stoa's NITOC Registrar, Mrs. Julie Braswell

• You will need your Stoa membership information to register on this site.

Registration does not guarantee you a room. All rooms will be allocated manually on a first-come-first-served basis dependent on the time/date stamp of the completed (but unpaid) registration. Once Stoa's NITOC Registrar has notified you that you have been allocated a room, you will have 48 hours to complete payment or be dropped from the list.

All reservations must be made by a Responsible Party (parent or chaperone at least 25 years old) who is financially responsible for all costs associated with that reservation.

All on-campus housing payments are non-refundable.

• PayPal is the only method of payment accepted - no exceptions to payment method will be made.

• No special requests or changes to the options listed below can be accommodated.

• The Responsible Party (or their spouse) reserving a suite must be housed in that suite during NITOC.

• The Responsible Party (or their spouse) reserving a dorm room must either be housed in that room or specify during registration a chaperone who will be housed in the same block of dorm rooms. Unless an adult is housed in the dorm room, BOTH occupants must be at least 16 years of age.

• The Responsible Party making/paying for the reservation is required to read and agree to the JBU Housing Rules and the Campus Housing Terms of Agreement. These items may be found by clicking the tabs so labeled, located on the left hand side of the Home Page.

It will speed up your registration process to read the Rules and Terms of Agreement prior to starting your registration!

Housing Options - Three types are being offered:

  1. Dorm Room - A single room with 2 twin beds; on a single-gender dorm hall that shares a community bathroom (multiple showers, toilets, sinks). Both occupants in a Dorm Room must be at least 16 years old, unless one of them is an adult. Base cost includes up to 2 Linen Packs & 2 JBU Rec Passes (see descriptions below).
  2. 2x2 Suite - Two rooms with 2 twin beds each; adjoining en suite bathroom (one shower, toilet, sink). Up to 4 extra persons total (2 in each room) are permitted to sleep on the floor of a 2x2 Suite. Base cost includes up to 4 Linen Packs & 4 JBU Rec Passes (see descriptions below).
  3. 2x4 Suite - Four rooms with 2 twin beds each; adjoining common room and en suite bathroom (two each: shower, toilet, sink). Up to 4 extra persons total (1 in each room) are permitted to sleep on the floor of a 2x4 Suite. Base cost includes up to 8 Linen Packs & 8 JBU Rec Passes (see descriptions below).

*Linen Pack includes: 2 bath towels, 1 washcloth, 1 blanket, 2 twin flat sheets, 1 pillow case (pillow not included - bring your own).

*JBU Rec Pass admits a NITOC attendee housed on-campus to use JBU's Rec Center free of charge during the week of NITOC. Some restrictions apply; more details will be available during check-in.

Good News! (and apologies for the error): The 2x2 Suite price was incorrectly listed too high on 3/10. The revised price of $460 (below) is correct...

Registration Instructions:

Click on "NITOC Housing Registration" at the top of this Page.

Step 1 - "Contact Information" Page:

You will be entering information on a page that looks like a tournament registration page. Please fill in all the requested contact information.

At the bottom of this page, there is a check box, acknowledging that the registrant has read the JBU Housing Rules and Campus Housing Terms of Agreement, and agrees to all the statements listed next to the check box. These items are found on Tabs down the left side of the Home Page. It will speed up your registration process to read these documents prior to registering!

Once all Contact information is entered and the box has been checked indicating agreement to the statements listed, click "Continue" to proceed to the next page.

Step 2 - "Occupants" Page (List ALL persons on this reservation):

You will be asked to add the requested information for each person (student or adult) who will be staying in the dorm room or suite being reserved. Locate the words "Add Occupants" (in blue type), and click to add each person staying in the room or suite, regardless of age. (Note: the site will not accept ages less than 1 year, so infants under 1 year of age do not need to be entered here)

"NITOC Housing Registration - Add Occupants" Page:

Complete this page for each person added to this reservation in Step 2. Be sure to indicate gender. If birth year is not available on the pull-down list, choose 1970. Debate & Speech club names are not necessary, but may help us place club members near one another (this is not guaranteed!).

Step 3 - "Miscellaneous" Page:

  • First, check the box to reserve the type of room you want. Check only one box (Dorm Room, 2x2 Suite, or 2x4 Suite). Checking a box will add the charge listed below it to your registration.
  • Second, indicate the number of Linen Packs you would like added to this registration.
  • Next, if you are reserving a 2x2 or 2x4 Suite, input the number of extra occupants (if any) that will be staying in your suite and sleeping on the floor. A $20 charge will be added to your registration for each extra occupant. (no extra occupants are permitted in Dorm Rooms).
  • Finally, enter Chaperone contact information if applicable.

Step 4 - "Review and Pay" Page:

  • Carefully review your information to make sure everything is correct and complete.
  • Once you have verified the accuracy of all information, please LOG OUT. Do not proceed to pay by PayPal until instructed by the NITOC Registrar to do so!
  • Due to the complexity of this process, we need to allocate the rooms manually before registrants are notified to make their payments. Please be patient as this may take several days, depending on the volume of registrations.
  • Housing allocations will be made on a first-come-first-served basis, according to the time/date record on registrations with all information entered but pending payment.
  • If a room has been allocated to you, you will be sent an email from Stoa's NITOC Registrar asking you to "Log back in and complete your registration." You will then be given 48 hours to complete your payment by PayPal and secure your On-Campus Housing.
  • NOTE: On-Campus Housing payments are non-refundable, and are required to be paid in full in order to secure a room or suite!
